In the summer of 1941, the United States is only months away from being at war. Of my visit to Paramaribo over 50 years ago. Seeing the rotting hulk of a German freighter that had been scuttled in the river to close the channel used to bring out the bauxite. Much more modern city now but in those days wooden frame two story houses that looked like they were brought from Amsterdam. Great book with plots and characters.Product details

Good story. Terrible ending. Why do we have to guess what happened?
The best Rick Kasten story so far features an intricate plot that plays out across half a dozen venues.
As usual Bushby is a great story teller. But unlike "Shadow Soldiers", I found character development very lacking in this novel.
Great entry to the series. The co-joining of the two major characters is great. They both evoke memories of the person(s)/characters we loved from from WWII movies.
Good and well written historical fiction yarn that takes place just before US got into WW2.
Fun read - second in series.
One of my favorite literary characters, Rick Kasten, meets up with one of America's espionage heroes, Harry Braham. Both men are involved in intricate covert operations, on both sides of the Atlantic that culminates in a rollicking adventure on the brink of America's involvement in WWII. Fasten your seatbelts because John Busby will take you on a journey for the ages!
