Seasons in the Mist Seasons of Destiny Deborah Kinnard 9780982483213 Books

In this time-travel novel Deborah Kinnard writes a story that I liked in all aspects.
The main character Bethany Lindstrom is a student in medieval history. For her studies she travels from the US to England. There she meets the friendly Sheila who offers Bethany a place to spend the night in her historical house.

When Bethany wakes up early she is going to explore the house a bit and stumbles on a time portal that transports her back in time to the 14th century.
It's a shock for Bethany to discover she has traveled back in time. But as a historian she also enjoys to see real life in the 14th century.

Bethany makes new friends, but also enemies. She comes to fall under the protection of Lord Michael Veryan and together they travel to king Edward's court. Bethany is trying to guard her heart, but nonetheless finds herself falling in love with Michael.

This journey back in time brings Bethany on her knees and she finds God again. What does He want her to do? Can she stay in the 14th century, or does she have to travel back to the 21st century? She doesn't know what she should choose. She is missing her mom, but she also doesn't want to leave Michael.

Travel with Bethany through the ages and find out if there's a future for her and Michael!

This novel is full of historical facts and colorful descriptions of life in medieval times. I enjoyed the author's writing-style and liked the use of old English in the conversations. I appreciated the Christian theme and how it was portraited. Wonderful job, Deborah!

I enjoyed this book
A medieval romance, time travel, High Court adventures? Don't know what came over me, but here I am enchanted by a girly book! Pure fun, mystery, life under King Edward III it will take your breath away. Makes you feel like a 21st century humanoid in 1353! A real trip, page turner and must read.
Seasons in the Mist was a wonderful escape into a medieval world. I found myself not wanting to read too fast. The descriptions of the people and the scenery really, "took me there." which is exactly what I love about time travels. I was actually sad when I finished reading it-. This book will go into my read again pile.
I must admit I had a hard time with the choice of words. I'm one for simple words, but Deborah Kinnard wrote a fascinating novel. One that will take you back to the 1300's. I learned some fascinating things along the way as the characters swept me back in time. I really felt as though I were there beside them. MS KINNARD has an amazing ability to make you feel as though you were watching a 13th century movie, her choice of words that detailed and true to the times.
I read this one a while back, so I don't really remember the plot well. But I did enjoy it. Only problem was the medieval language was so strong I had difficulty with it. It lent an air of authenticity, but it still drove me slightly nuts at times.
Heard about this book from an online site. Was logged into and decided to check it out. I love "Look inside" features, giving me the reader an opportunity to get a taste. The taste was a dandy. I am hooked. Bought the book for my . If you are like me, cut your teeth on fairytales, castles, ladies and lords, it promises to be excellent. I give an "excellent" rating on my first pages of read. The author does a wonderful set-up of why Beth is able to navigate to some degree in the time period. Immediately, I was aware of the realistic danger of her being viewed as a witch from the first man's reaction to her. I can't wait to get busy reading it.. so will say ta ta.

Just found out you can only review one time but can edit what you originally wrote. WOW.. what a book. I grew up on fairy tales about prince's and princess's, stories all set in medieval Europe. Been a long long time since I read one until now. This as you already know has a slightly different twist. Beth, who becomes recognized as Lady Bethany in the 1,300s, time travels. Can you imagine something like that? The book is filled with amazing description and detail, intrigue and skullduggery. It is also filled with love of heart that drives to surrender. Lady Bethany's journey is exiciting, scary, tender, deeply sad in places. Her heart makes the right choice. The reader might be challenged much in the same way as Lady Bethany.. my hope is you will choose wisely. A wonderful, delightful read. Good job Lady Deborah Kinnard!!!
I had no idea this was a "Christian" book when I bought it and the realization snuck up on me as the main character's faith develops. The author writes with confident knowledge about the 1300s and made it seem like a desirable time in which to live and that is really mastering the art of suspending reality. The reality is that it was not only unsafe from a health standpoint, but to be nobility in that age meant always being watched and having someone else want to take what you have. but, time travel IS a suspension of reality and I am addicted to those with historical accuracy in other respects and which are well written the details about clothing, food, and housing of the upper classes is fascinating if not probably quite so rosy. The developing love story between the two protagonists is sweet and enjoyable to read. I also found the Christian aspects, the heroine's developing faith, to be most compelling. Life was hard in the Middle Ages, but most people lived their faith in a way unfamiliar to us. God was real and walked by your side at all times. Daily mass was a given fact and faith was woven into every act, large or small. I loved this book, was sad when it ended, and wanted to know about their future lives, hoping for a sequel very soon.
